19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev claimed his initial title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult season, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with former trainer Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has steadily improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first trophy after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface from spring of that year.
Victory also signifies he has won twenty-one titles at 21 distinct events.
"For the first time I have attended a event with my children together, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," said world number 14 Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, featuring in that event earlier this year.
His retrieving strategy and frequent emotional displays on court had led observers to question if his capacity to compete at the top level was concluded.
However the player has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
He fought back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.
Both players traded break points in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first tour victory, took control to force a third set.
Moutet saved 4 initial chances in a close final set before the Russian won the break to that score to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner earned the title with a shot at the net area, with his opponent failing to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
